The ICC has released the schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up matches, set to take place from May 27 to June 1 across venues in the USA and Trinidad and Tobago.
These warm-up games will be hosted at Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Texas, Broward County Stadium in Florida, Queen’s Park Oval, and Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.
Unfortunately, Pakistan and England will not be participating in the warm-up matches as they will be busy with a four-match T20I series from May 22 to May 30.
Seventeen teams, including South Africa, will be competing in these warm-up matches. South Africa will have an intra-squad game on May 29 in Florida. These warm-up fixtures will feature 20-over games, but they won’t have official T20 international status, allowing teams to play all members of their 15-player squads.
Unlike previous tournaments, teams can now choose to play up to two warm-up matches depending on their arrival at the event. One of the key matches to look out for is between the West Indies and Australia at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago, on May 30, which will be open to fans.
